After completion of their legal studies in multiple jurisdictions, Dr. Dominik Nikol and Matthias Goetz, the founding partners of the firm, took different paths: Dominik Nikol embarked on pursuing  a doctorate in international corporate law in  Germany and then worked for many years in a  law firm specialising in data protection before founding his own data protection firm. Matthias Goetz followed a more international route and pursued an LL.M. (Master of Law) specialising in intellectual property and data protection law at the University of Cambridge (UK) and then joining a leading international law firm in London focussing on data protection.

Though the founding partners took different career paths, their passion for data protection law brought them together. Both partners have been dedicating themselves to this increasingly important area of law for several years in a focused and sustained manner. Together, they have each gained and established their own specialist expertise in this field, making a name for themselves in the market through their noteworthy work and legal publications. Their combined domestic and international expertise and established networks in data protection law and related legal areas, offer an added value second to none.
